The 6th US Marines continued east towards Chateau Thierry, while the 5th and Axel headed north. "The Pyramid Farm" was named by the Americans, after a small tower they named "The Pyramid". It was used as Head Quarter for the 5th USMC. Axel and the soldiers stayed in the wood on the opposite side of the road, until the night between June 4th and 5th, when they were sent to the front line.
Story from the front line:
The Americans, as usual, wanted a steak. Some of them tried to persuade French farmers to sell them a cow, but the farmers didn't want to sell them one. In one of the fields they caught a cow, which had run away, but they didn't have the heart to kill it, because of their alliance with the Frenchmen, who had been hit hard by the war.
Therefore they led it to a field and pushed it towards the German lines, with the desired effect; The Germans shot the cow........
