At least three, family members took part in World War 1. Johannes Frederiksen was in the Australian Army and survived the war, whereas Axel Christoffersen was in the US Marine Corps and was killed in June 1918. Fritz Ludvig Andersen I am working on right now, but he was most likely in the US Army during WW1, and during WW2 joined up for the Canadian Army with 2 of his sons. A third son was in the airforce.
Gilles Lagin is a mechanic by trade who has specialised in the history of the Battle og Bois de Belleau. He has helped me a great deal with information about Axel and the battle, and I highly recommend his web-site and seeing his museum if you're in the area.
